First of all, happy New Year!
We are happy to kick-off the year by inviting you to our new series on ‘Deep-dive into artificial intelligence and data ecosystems’. This series will be composed of three panel discussions to shed light on how artificial intelligence is shaping the current open data ecosystems. These panel discussions will bring together experts in the field to explore the role of open data on artificial intelligence, discuss the legal insights of data use, fundamental rights and data protection, and the regulatory approach of the EU. These discussions will result in a report that will be available on data.europa.eu.
Every session is independent, so you will be able to participate in any of them based on your availability and preferences:
-
The first panel discussion ‘Deep-dive into artificial intelligence and data ecosystems: ownership, data use and legal insights’ will focus on data ownership and artificial intelligence, and how artificial intelligence algorithms interacts and uses open data, and the correlation between them. It will also discuss topics on property rights, legal status of artificial intelligence generated work and the policy responses to build sustainable transparent AI systems. You can register to this session that will take place on Friday 19th January.
-
The second panel discussion ‘Deep-dive into artificial intelligence and data ecosystems: fundamental rights, ethics and data protection’ will dive into the link between artificial intelligence and fundamental rights, with special focus on data protection and privacy. You can register to this session that will take place on Friday, 26th January.
-
The third and last panel discussion ‘Deep-dive into artificial intelligence and data ecosystems: the regulatory approach of the European Union’ will present the AI Act and its impact to the open data ecosystem. Since the development and adoption of artificial intelligence services has outpaced the legislative process around the world, the EU aims to regulate AIs. This panel will discussion the implication of the AI Act and the opportunities and challenges that it can place to our society. You can register to this session that will take place on Friday, 2nd February.
After registration, you will receive an email containing the calendar invite and the ClickMeeting link.
This will be a webinar open to everyone, meaning that all open data enthusiasts are invited to join. Feel free to share this event with your network.
We hope to see you soon!
